About

Straylight Ventures was established in 2025 as a vehicle for both research and investment in the solar robotics space. Our primary goal is to promote robotics in solar as a means to accelerate growth of utility-scale solar deployments and address the labor shortage challenges often seen in the operations & maintenance phase of the solar project lifecycle.

Andrew Morse has been in solar since 2007. Starting his career in the industry as a PV System Design Engineer and advancing into several engineering leadership roles, he has over a decade of experience in the design, construction and operation of commercial and utility-scale solar plants. Andrew accepted leadership roles in software and controls engineering as he identified opportunities for process optimization in PV system design and built upon his extensive solar experience to introduce software applications for tracker yield optimization and PV system monitoring & controls at FTC Solar. He holds multiple patents for innovations in PV system design and single-axis tracker performance optimization.
